Utrecht University provides housing for international students through SSH Short Stay. Like most student housing provided through the university, SSH Short Stay rooms are pricey, but convenient. The rental price ranges from between €420 to €670, obviously depending on what kind of room you choose, from shared to single with shared facilities, and private studios at the pricier end.
You will also have to pay a reservation fee of €160, as well as a deposit that covers your first and last month's rent. Rooms come fully furnished with all utilities included. Rooms are allocated on a first-come first-serve basis, so apply as soon and as fast as you can!
You can only apply for housing once your application to a study at Utrecht University has been received and accepted. You will be invited to register online with SSH Short Stay, indicating your faculty at this point. Once your faculty has approved your application, you will be able to browse the accommodation listings to choose where you would prefer to live, and then submit an online reservation request. It is at this time that you will have to pay the fee and deposit in order to secure your reservation.
BE CAREFUL: If for any reason you cancel your housing application after you have paid your fee and deposit, you will not receive a refund. Make sure you are committed before you commit with your money!
There may be other accommodation options available to you as well.
